Cassandra

Cassandra is a column-based solution with significant adoption for real-time big data.  The sessions during NoSQL Now! will explain how Cassandra addresses these requirements, and its relationship with big data anlaytics. Examples will be shared from real-world production use cases such as Netflix, Twitter, Constant Contact and Staples. By way of example, Netflix migrated from Oracle to Amazon SimpleDB to Cassandra; today it has over 57 Cassandra clusters. Twitter performs real-time analytics against tweet data using Rainbird system built on Cassandra. Constant Contact massively scaled an application and deployed in 3 months for $250k, compared to an estimated 9 months and $2.5 million on a traditional relational database.
